Is the only reason why yield is used in this example is because it's more memory efficient?

Are there any other reasons why he decides to use yield instead of return?

It's about function, not efficiency. After a "return", if a function is called again it will start over from the beginning.

But after a "yield", the next time it is called it will continue from where it left off.
