JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Introducing Conditional Statements

is this a buggy quiz? It keeps telling me task 1 is no longer passing when I haven't touched it.

Here's my code for all 3 questions in this quiz. By the time I typed in the else statement (for the 3rd question) it told me Task 1 was no longer passing. What happened here?

var answer = prompt ("What is the best programming language?");

if (answer === "JavaScript") { alert ("You are correct") else { alert ("JavaScript is the best language!") } }

app.js
var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");

if (answer === "JavaScript") {
  alert ("You are correct")
  else {
    alert ("JavaScript is the best language!")
  }
}

The challenges are very specific and can be sometimes wonky

var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");

if (answer === "JavaScript") {
  alert("You are correct");
} else {
  alert("JavaScript is the best language!");
}

The only thing you are missing are the semi-colons after the alerts. The rest should be working fine. I just took the challenge to test and be sure.

thank you thank you!
