Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Even or Odd Loop

is True not working

So I am putting "while start is True" and it's not working - it says wrong number of prints. But when I do start > 0, it works! Something with the "is True" isn't right, but I can't figure it out. Why doesn't that recognize with start is false (i.e. when it's 0)?

Thanks in advance!

even.py
import random

start = 5

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2

while start is True:
    random_number = random.randint(1,99)
    if even_odd(random_number) is True:
        print("{} is even".format(random_number))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(random_number))
    start -= 1

I'm not sure why this happen but you don't really need to write is True.

while start: # reads like this - while True:
    random_number = random.randint(1,99)
    if even_odd(random_number): # same thing here
        print("{} is even".format(random_number))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(random_number))
    start -= 1

Thank you!
