is wordpress suitable for my idea?

Well, i have this idea for my thesis next semester. I will try to create a site where incoming college students or any students out there who wants to find school(specifically universities) and courses. Is okay for me to use wordpress?

Yip. It's absolutely possible - you will just need to find an existing API that has all the data about schools and courses
