HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

It gives me the error saying that my portfolio has not been linked with the index.html page?

It says that it isn't linked how its supposed to be, Thanks

You almost have it, just move the closing a tag.

<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>

If you look at the tags as boxes or inclosures. There was nothing between the start and the end so whatever you put in between will be your link.

<a href="mypage.html"> <!-- start -->
whatever goes in the middle will be your link :)
</a> <!-- end -->
