It keeps saying: "Task 1 is no longer passing"

Finally, add a # symbol and lastName in uppercase to the end of the userName string. The final value of userName is "23188XTR#SMITH".

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName;

One of my least favorite Treehouse errors, but it usually just means you did something on the same line or in the same code block as the previous task, but haven't quite completed the next task.

In this case, you're only missing one thing: you need to uppercase the last name in addition to the id. Then it should pass!

The message may be a bit misleading, but you're very close to being done.

The challenge wants you to also convert the name into uppercase, as you did with the ID.

thanks a lot guys!
