HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

It keeps telling me that I have to add a list item with Contact in it to move on And I have <li> Contact on there.

I think there is a glitch, I have the code exactly how it was presented in the video, I even tried it with closing tabs for each command

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
          <ul>
          <li> Portfolio
          <li> About
          <li> Contact

        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

The only thing I can think of is that maybe because there's a space underneath the item?? I just finished mine today, so I'm still in the novice stage..

Close your <li> with </li>.

Thank you that worked. I swear I tried that once already, must have had something else in the code wrong at the time. Thanks again! I was getting very frustrated lol
