It says I need to echo Mike's name onto the page. The variable was deemed correct so the echo statement is wrong.

$name = "Mike";

?>

<?php echo $name; ?>

How is this not right??

It should read:

<?php
    $name = "Mike";
    echo $name;
?>

Krista is right. There's actually nothing wrong with the code. It's just that the answer validator that Treehouse is using wants you to type it all between one set of php tags.
