JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Introducing Conditional Statements

It says "Task one (var answer) is no longer working."

I don't understand why this doesn't work, as far as line one.

Hey Kimberly,

The question wants to make sure that you are just looking for 'JavaScript' and not the fully uppercase version. Try writing a conditional that specifically looks for the string 'JavaScript' (with the two capital letters) and see how that goes.

You need to remove the semi-colon from inside the if statement. It's causing a syntax error, which causes the script to fail to run.
