HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

It says that task number one is no longer passing but nothing else has changed.

So I am building navigation elements in my html course. I get passed step one just fine. It then tells me to insert segments into the unordered list. Which is easy. And changes nothing in the code. Suddenly, task number one stops working. Does anyone have any advice on this one?

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
  <a href="index.html">
       <nav>
         <ul><li>Porftolio</li>
        <li>About</li>
           <li>Contact</li></ul>
         </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hi Alexandra,

there were some issues with your code. First, you shouldn't place the nav inside the link, because this isn't what the challenge asks you to do. You also misspelled Portfolio. This code should work:

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html"></a>
      <nav>
         <ul>
           <li>Portfolio</li>
           <li>About</li>
           <li>Contact</li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Best Regards, Philip
