I've built a Wordpress site on my iMac. I'm ready to migrate it - how do you get cPanel working?

I've followed all the videos and it was working great until Zac mentioned cPanel and skipped how to set it up. Also, cPanel seems to be a paid program. Is there an alternative to it as I only need to use it once and don't need it on a monthly basis?

Where are you migrating it too? There are a few free hosting options, but they usually have some sort of limitations. Almost all web hosts will charge some small fee, usually $10 or less a month. Once you have signed up to use their service, and log into your account, you'll be at your admin dashboard, which for many hosts is cPanel. This is by far the most common way to host a site, and you don't set up cPanel, it'll already be installed through your hosting provider.

I assume you're not going to serve your own website to the world?

Yeah, you need a web hosting account. You'll also need to purchase a domain.
