All the Android courses here are in Java with the exception of 2 Kotlin courses. Treehouse will be putting out their first React Native course later this week which will be an intro to React native. So for learning on Treehouse Java is definitely the way to go because it's the standard language for native apps and most of the material is in that language.

As Seth said, on Treehouse Java is the way to go and I also advise you to take a look on Kotlin because it's also an official language to develop native Android apps.
