You will want to use the assignment operator which is a single equals sign. So your javascript code should look like this
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase();

5,194 PointsYou may be overthinking it. I'll give you hints below, let me know if you need more :)
- Your answer should have an equals sign in it. So if I have 1 apple, I would write that as
var apple = 1;
Your answer should follow this pattern.
2 . Regarding the stuff on the right side of your equals sign, you're close doing it right. Just remove the outside parenthesis, as they're not needed, and write out "ToUpperCase" instead of "ToUppercase". So if i was lowercasing my name, I would write:
var name = "George";
var username = name.toLowerCase();
