9,020 PointsJavascript and DOM work problem
Idk what I'm doing wrong I don't understand the directions and I have literally tried anything I can to make this work.
const sayPhrase = document.getElementById(sayPhrase);
var button;
var input;
button.addEventListener('click', () => {
alert(input.value);
});
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Phrase Sayer</title>
</head>
<body>
<p><input type="text" id="phraseText"></p>
<p><button id="sayPhrase">Say Phrase</button></p>
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

- the ID name must be enclosed in quotes when passing it to
getElementById
- the instructions say "assign it to the button variable", but this code assigns it to "sayPhrase" instead
