Finally, add a # symbol and lastName in uppercase to the end of the userName string. The final value of userName is "23188XTR#SMITH".?

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "#Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
var userName = lastName.toUperCase();
userName += "23188xtr#smith";

Howdy!

You're currently assigning a strongly-typed value to the userName variable, but the challenge requires you to get to that final result by playing with those two variables. You have to concatenate the variables into one, like so:

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();

Good luck!

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
var userName += "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();

alert(userName);
