JavaScript challenge

Can anyone assist with this challenge:

Finally, add a # symbol and lastName in uppercase to the end of the userName string. The final value of userName is "23188XTR#SMITH".

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase();
userName = id.toUpperCase(); userName += '#'; userName += lastName

You can add strings like numbers but strings will be put together.

So you can write userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();

The result I'm getting with your code is '23188XTR#Smith' So as far as I can tell, you just need to make lastName.toUpperCase();

The last name also needs to be made upper case.

You can also join all the strings in one statement to make your code a bit more compact:

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
