jQuery .fail method question.

I don't know what I'm missing. i've tried this code and looked at other forums regarding .fail() online and cannot come up a solution. My code is below.

$.get("missing.html", function(data) {
  $("#footer").html(data);

}); .fail(function () {

});
app.js
$.get("missing.html", function(data) {
  $("#footer").html(data);

}); .fail(function () {

});
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <title>AJAX with JavaScript</title>
</head>
<body>
  <div id="main">
    <h1>AJAX with jQuery</h1>
  </div>
  <div id="footer"></div>
  <script src="jquery.js"></script>
  <script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Hi Jesse,

The problem is with where you have placed the call to .fail. Specifically, in this case it looks like you want to place it directly after the closing bracket of your get() function call, rather than after the semicolon.

Try that out, looking more closely at some examples if you have to, and it should become clear.

Thank Ethan. It's always the simple errors :)
