JS Basics - Conditional Challenge Task part 3 of 3

It's not accepting my 'else' clause. Not sure what is wrong.

var answer = prompt ('What is the best programming language?'); if (answer === 'JavaScript') { alert ('You are correct!')}; else { alert ('JavaScript is the best language!')};

app.js
var answer = prompt ('What is the best programming language?');
if (answer === 'JavaScript')  {
  alert ('You are correct!')};
else {
  alert ('JavaScript is the best language!')};

Hi Tre,

When working with conditional statements in JavaScript, the block (pair of curly braces) does not end with a semi-colon. So if you take out the semi-colons on the end of your if/else blocks, it should work.

It won't necessarily cause a problem all the time, like in Task 2 you still were able to pass it with the semi-colon, but once you start linking if, else, and else if statements you will most likely experience problems.

Good luck.
