1,744 Pointskwargs and __init__ trouble
I don't know where I am going wrong here :(
class Student:
name = "Shawn"
def __init__(self, name = name, **kwargs):
self.name = name
self.gender = gender
for key, value in kwargs.items():
setattr(self, name, gender)
def praise(self):
return "You inspire me, {}".format(self.name)
def reassurance(self):
return "Chin up, {}. You'll get it next time!".format(self.name)
def feedback(self, grade):
if grade > 50:
return self.praise()
return self.reassurance()

Treehouse Moderator 68,457 PointsWhen using the generic for key, value in kwargs.items():
the setattr
arguments need to match the for
loop variable names
# correcting to key and value from name and gender
setattr(self, name, gender)
# should be
setattr(self, key, value)
Post back if you need more help. Good luck!!

6,905 Pointsyou haven't put gender in the init, but then refer to it underneath 'self.gender = gender'. I'm also not sure why you have put gender in, as I don't think it asks for it, but with the code you have it is looking for gender and you haven't set it up
