Learning Ruby & RoR question

Hello Team, I know this question has been asked like a million times. I keep hearing people down Ruby all the the time. I want to learn ruby because yes I hear its easy to pick up, I do find JS somewhat hard to understand. I hear the job market is down to niche only. Is it a waste of time to learn Ruby? Is it a good idea to learn it to have under my belt???

Hey Joseph,

I believe it is a good idea to learn Ruby. RoR is a niche, not many people are hiring but those who do want an experienced dev.

Maybe try going for Front-End because chances of getting an entry level front end role are more likely than a back-end entry level role.

Hope this helps.

Ruby on Rails lets you skip a lot of boilerplate. I think it's a great tool to have on your belt. You might also be happy to know that Treehouse itself is built on Ruby on Rails.
