HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

Link each of the three list items. Portfolio should go with "index.html". I get Bummer! Portfolio should link to index

This is my code that returns a Bummer! The Portfolio should link to index.html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
       <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
        <nav>
          <ul>
              <li><a href="index.html"></a>Portfolio</li>
              <li><a href="about.html"></a>About</li>
              <li><a href="contact.html"></a>Contact</li>
          </ul>
        </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Sorry, I have no idea why I labeled it Javascript when it is HTML.

You need to put the ending link tags AFTER portfolio. Try this:

              <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
              <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
              <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>

Awesome! Thanks a lot Jesse!
