Literals VS Memory Allocation

I noticed that even thou we covered literals in the foundations course, it is hardly used. Why?

Is object allocation and initialization preferred?

Example:

NSDictionary *blogPost1 = @{@"title":@"The Missing Widget in Android"};

VS

NSDictionary *blogPost1 = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObject:@"The Missing Widget in Android" forKey:@"title"];

It does the exact same thing under the hood.
