localhost/index.php/portfolio instead of localhost/template-hierarchy/portfolio

Hi there community,

Hope anyone out there can give any hints or insight about this. Thanks in advance if you do so!

I have been dealing with some difference in the URL and I thought it wasn't relevant but at this point, making the custom link, I'm starting to doubt if I hadn't done any kind of setup mistake or alike.

My setup: I'm working on a Windows PC, and I'm working with WP locally (no Mamp, Wamp, or similar GUI, just installed the stack one by one natively (Apache, MySQL and PHP up to date).

Now, I'm more or less doing the same (or similar) to what Zac's been doing, but instead of getting a URL with the template-hierarchy folder on it (see the question itself above) I go to localhost/index.php/portfolio, for example.

Is that difference really relevant in production/live? Is it something wrong in my setup?

One more info is I included the template-hierarchy theme, but I obviously included it within the /themes/ folder, although of course the site is outside there, in its corresponding folder I named something like wp-1/ or similar, to which I pointed in my Apache setup (in the httpd-vhosts.conf file of the extra configuration folder).

I am almost sure I need to change something I did wrong or I could do better, but I can't really find it, or I'm not sure if I should really care much about it too, so I would really appreciate any hint, help, suggestion, etc.

Thank you!
