localwp.com folder showing an http error 500

I've set up MAMP on my computer and set the port to the default web and SQL ports, so "localhost" is where the test site and localwp.com folders show up. I've also set up the localwp database and my wpuser username in phpMyAdmin. I've installed Wordpress and stored it under the localwp.com folder.

The test site works properly, and it shows my index.php properly. However, the localwp.com folder shows a server error 500. Does anyone have an idea why this would be happening? I tried installing the latest version of Wordpress as well as the version used in the video, but nothing works. Please help.
