Loops, Arrays Code Challenge

var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");

do { secret = prompt("What is the secret password?"); }

while ( secret !== "sesame" ) {

} document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");

what's wrong?

"you only need to prompt once" is the error... not super helpful

script.js
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");

do {
secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
}

while ( secret !== "sesame" ) {

}
document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");

Try the following

  var secret;
  do  {
    secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
  } while ( secret !== "sesame" )
  document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");

You prompt the message twice, one time at row 1 and second time inside your loop.

When getting the error "you only need to prompt once", it had hinted you that you most likely prompted twice. In your code you had indeed done a prompt with your first variable and then a second within your do/while loop.

The code above that Theodore had posted should work for you.

var secret;

  do  {
    secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
  } while ( secret !== "sesame" )

  document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
