loopy question, works in python compiler, but again missing something, because i'm getting a bummer message, no help

The code i made works, i tested it in idle python. I'm trying to get it working in the challenge without any success. Is there anything wrong here?

breaks.py
print(items)
        for i in items:
          if i[0] = 'a':
            continue
          else:
            print(i)

2 problems:

  • in line 3, you are reassigning the value, rather than testing for it (= vs == )
    • your spacing is off, remember 4 spaces for each level of indent

Thank you! Very helpful. Need to pay attention to the subtleties of the language more.
