734 Pointsmake a string into a dictionary
I'm not sure where to go from here, i cant use a for loop right, because it will take each letter into account? not each word?
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(str):
str.lower()

9,731 PointsMaybe you could look into .split() function, it separates words from the string.

28,046 Pointstry this
example_string = "I do not like it Sam I Am"
def word_count(a):
# get the string into lower case
a = a.lower()
#split the string into a list of words
list_a = a.split()
#create an empty dictionary
dict_a = {}
#iterate over each item in the list with a for loop
for i in list_a:
#count the frequency of each item in the list with the help of count method
count_i = list_a.count(i)
#assign the item and its frequency into the empty dictionary as key, value pairs
dict_a[i] = count_i
#end the for loop and return the dictionary
return dict_a
print(word_count(example_string))
