I would say just watch your spacing. Your issue is likely the extra space after the quote mark. Make sure you're just entering it as:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
  </head>
  <body></body>
</html>

cheers I was not sure what was wrong I did not know things were so fussy.. As an aside are Macs good for coding I have a windows laptop but thinking of changing
