meta tag with charset

<meta charset="UTF-8"> I thought this was wright but it gives xBummer!

Laurence,

I would say just watch your spacing. Your issue is likely the extra space after the quote mark. Make sure you're just entering it as:

  <head>

cheers I was not sure what was wrong I did not know things were so fussy.. As an aside are Macs good for coding I have a windows laptop but thinking of changing
