Modifying Elements

the question is: Store the value of the text input element in the variable inputValue. I figured the first line on app.js. The question said store the value, I tried a few times and couldn't figure out.

Hi Matthew, you are obtaining the element correctly, you just have to access the value property to get the value.

let inputValue = document.querySelector('input').value;

[Edit] You could also use the ID selector, which may actually be better, in other situations you could have multiple input elements.

let inputValue = document.querySelector('#linkName').value;
