My answer works when I run it through Terminal on my computer. Why won't it run in Treehouse workspaces??

When your code runs locally, but doesn't pass the challenge, it's usually because you're not doing exactly what the challenge asks.

Notice that the challenge asks you to convert num to an integer before squaring it. It's a minor difference, but if you pass a float such as 4.0 to your function, the return value would be 16.0. But if you convert the 4.0 to an integer first, it returns integer 16.

        converted_num = int(num)
        return converted_num ** 2
    except ValueError:
        return (num * len(num))
