Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Letter Game Introduction

My code doesn't work

I've spent 2 hours looking for mistakes but the code just doesn't work This is my code: import random

make a list of words

words = [ 'Orlando' 'Miami' 'Santiago' 'Lima' 'Buenos Aires' 'Madrid' 'Liverpool' 'New York' 'Chicago' ]

while True: start = input("Press enter/return to start, or enter Q to quit") if start.lower() == 'q': break

pick a random word

secret_word = random.choice(words)
bad_guesses = []
good_guesses = []

while len(bad_guesses) < 7 and len(list(good_guesses)) != len(secret_word):

draw spaces

draw guessed letters and strikes

    for letter in secret_word:
        if letter in good_guesses:
            print(letter, end='')
        else:
            print('_', end='')

    print('Strikes: {}/7'.format(len(bad_guesses)))

#take guess
    guess = input("Gues a letter: ").lower()

    if len(guess) != 1:
        print("You can only guess one letter")
        continue
    elif guess in bad_guesses or guess in good_guesses:
        print("You've already guess that letter")
        continue
    elif not guess.isalpha():
        print("You can only guess letters!")
        continue

    if guess in secret_word:
        good_guesses.append(guess)
        if len(good_guesses) == len(list(secret_word)):
            print("You win! The word was {}".format(secret_word))
            break
    else:
        bad_guesses.append(guess)
else:
    print("You didn't guess it! My secret word was {}".format(secret_word))

print out win/lose

I think I spotted the error. I will post it as an answer in a few moments but could you *Edit and reformat your code snippet. I think something went wrong when you copy/pasted it in, i feel like the larger letters were meant to be comments inside the code snippet?

It will make it easier for me to copy/paste it to be able to run it if my answer doesnt fix the problem. Or you could create and share a Workspace from this challenge. :-)

Without giving you the answer right off the bat, take a second look at your words list.

words = [ 'Orlando' 'Miami' 'Santiago' 'Lima' 'Buenos Aires' 'Madrid' 'Liverpool' 'New York' 'Chicago' ]

# HINT: Each word should be separated by something
