my index.html is not being linked with portfolio

when I tried it is showing wrong message, My codes are like that. <li><a href=''index.html''>Portfolio</a></li> where is the mistake here

You are using 2 single quote marks to make 1. So you can either use the single quotes or use the actual double quotes on your href.

The quote mark (") is different to two of (')
