Closing tag on your h1 is wrong, have you tried:

<style>
  h1 {
    color: purple;
  }

</style>

<h1>Karen Greene</h1>

I must be super tired. Your example looks identical to mine with the example of the capital P. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Thank you for your time!

Karen,

In your example you have

<h1>Karen Greene<h1/>

It should be

<h1>Karen Greene</h1>

See the difference on the closing h1 tag?

OHHHHHHH!!!!
