Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 8,640 Pointsmy student report doesn't print to the page even when I exit/type quit
I think I have the code right and the prompt is behaving correctly. Here is my code:
var message = '';
var student;
var search;
function print(message) {
var outputDiv = document.getElementById('output');
outputDiv.innerHTML = message;
}
function getStudentReport(student) {
var report = '<h2>Student: ' + student.name + '</h2>';
report += '<p>Track: ' + student.track + '</p>';
report += '<p>Acheivements: ' + student.achievements + '</p>';
report += '<p>Points: ' + student.points + '</p>';
return report;
}
while (true) {
search = prompt('Search for a student at Treehouse. Type \'quit\' to exit');
if (search === null || search.toLowerCase() === 'quit') {
break;
}
for (var i = 0; i < students.length; i += 1) {
student = students[i];
if (search.toLowerCase() === student.name) {
message = getStudentReport(student);
print(message)
}
}
}

4,421 PointsHello! the semi colon won't make any difference since Javascript is a very forgiving language.
But in your for loop you need to change:
if (search.toLowerCase() === student.name) {
to
if (search === student.name.toLowerCase()) {
and it will work just fine.
Also: If you want you could change \'quit\' to "quit" if you like, but that's just a personal preference. You also made a minor spelling error on: ' report += '<p>Acheivements: ' + student.achievements + '</p>';' Nothing that will affect the logic though.
Hope this helped! / Joel

Treehouse Project ReviewerThe last line of code in your for statement doesn't end with a semi colon.
You should have print(message); it is currently print(message) without a ; .
I hope this helps!
