8,400 PointsMySQL and Ruby/Rails
I am working my way through the Active Records (Ruby) lessons and have hit a wall when trying to use MySQL instead of SQLite with Ruby on Rails.
I installed MySQL according to this tutorial: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-mysql-with-your-ruby-on-rails-application-on-ubuntu-14-04 and everything appeared to go well.
However, when I attempt to create a database for my 'biller' application (rake db:create) and then look for available databases (mysql -uroot -p > show databases;), I only manage to create 'biller_test' and not 'biller_development'.
I have read there is a glitch with the newest mysql version and rails 4.x. I tried specifying 'mysql '0.3.18'', as was suggested, in the gem file to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
