Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types String Formatting

name = "harrison" subject = "treehouse loves {}" subject.format ("harrison")

This code works in the workshop, but in the test it gives me the error "Bummer! Be sure to use the {} placeholder and the .format() method." What's wrong?

The code challenge expects you to .format() the string directly. This code should work in the Python shell, however the code challenge is really picky. Also, you don't need to say "harrison" twice, that's the point of making the name variable. Lastly, Python is super picky about uppercase and lowercase letters. "abc" isn't the same thing as Abc. Try changing "treehouse loves {}" to "Treehouse loves {}". Try this:

name = "harrison"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}".format(name)

Good luck! ~Alex
