nav a.selected not working in preview

I have exactly the same code entered as the video, checked multiple times, saved, refreshed files and preview page. Only the hover color is working but selected page color not showing up. help.

Thank you for responding, I figured out there is nothing wrong with the code, apparently Safari is not the best browser for this project. I switched to chrome and everything magically resolved :). Take Care, Michelle
