Need help with making text into rainbow colours [solved]

Can anyone explain to me what i have done wrong?

I kind of cheated my way through the challenge by just changing;

document.querySelectorAll("#rainbow");

to

document.getElementsbyTagName("li");

i would still like to know why i could not access by the id though if anyone knows.

Thank you

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Rainbow!</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <ul id="rainbow">
      <li>This should be red</li>
      <li>This should be orange</li>
      <li>This should be yellow</li>
      <li>This should be green</li>
      <li>This should be blue</li>
      <li>This should be indigo</li>
      <li>This should be violet</li>
    </ul>
    <script src="js/app.js"></script>
  </body>
</html>
js/app.js
let listItems = document.querySelectorAll("#rainbow");
const colors = ["#C2272D", "#F8931F", "#FFFF01", "#009245", "#0193D9", "#0C04ED", "#612F90"];

for(var i = 0; i < colors.length; i ++) {
  listItems[i].style.color = colors[i];
}

Hi you were so close, check out this line:

let listItems = document.querySelectorAll("#rainbow li");

Notice what is different from mine to yours? You weren't selecting each li element. You were only selecting the #rainbow id. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Ahhh i should have been able to work that out.

Thank you for the help!!
