4,535 PointsNeed help with Super! Task 3 of 3
The problem area is line 12. I must be missing something. The error that I'm getting is that the list is not sorting. I'm not sure why line 11 is valid but 12 is not. Thanks.
class Inventory:
def __init__(self):
self.slots = []
def add_item(self, item):
self.slots.append(item)
class SortedInventory(Inventory):
def add_item(self, item):
super().add_item(item)
self.slots.append(item)
self.slots.sort()

Treehouse Moderator 68,457 PointsYou are very close! You are adding the item twice: Once via the super()
and once with self.slots.append(item)
. Remove the self.slots.append line and it should pass the challenge.
Post back if you have more questions. Good Luck!

5,397 PointsIt looks like you're really close. the line-
super().add_item(item)
overrides the add_item method which allows the add_item in SortedInventory to inherit that line from add_item in the inventory class.
So your code is right except you are repeating yourself right there. delete that line and see how it goes!
