Newb Wordpress Web Dev Guidance?

I'm a new Wordpress Web Dev. I have extensive experience with CSS and HTML from managing, updating and customizing several Wordpress sites on my previous job for over 3.5 years. I intend on building my Wordpress Dev skills up to industry standards (I know I need JS/PHP) but I want to be careful with my time. I stared off on the Front End Development track, but feel like I should switch the Wordpress one, I just finished the JS track and will probably be feeding supplement ones along side the Wordpress Dev track (I know I need to learn how to make a WordPress theme from scratch). Any suggestions (preferably from a moderator please?)?

I think you should switch to the Wordpress Course.

The course has all the things you need: also JS and PHP(Wordpress PHP) but if you are short on time go directly there since as I've said the course has all the elements you need.

And just to know you'll be visiting the docs when starting out, but that's normal to get a hang with the Tech.

Best, Nejc

'Visiting the docs when starting out'? What do you mean?

In addition, my intention is also to become a JS Full stack web developer. So I my short term goal is web development, but my long term goal is Full Stack Web dev for JS (Angular.js, node.js and even Keystone.js if possible).

Is it okay if I skip some of the courses since I already know how to install a theme, manipulate it in the editor, etc?

With that I mean you should be looking at the docs for the functions that are used in the courses to get the whole understanding what is possible with a function or tips and the arguments and so on.

If you know how to do certain things than skip the videos it's not that of a big deal IMO. But when you get the time watch them through - the teacher can give some good tips and tricks you might not have heard before - Treehouse teachers are the Top in the industry.

And the JS Library is big - Angular, React, Node, ES6 not sure about Keystone so you are in the right place to learn.

And the community is glad to help.

Just know that talking about code helps to interchange ideas, get help and the most funniest thing when you ask a question and the moment you send it lightbulb goes on and you know how to solve it yourself :D

Oh yes indeed. I use Upwork additionally. But I don't know how good that is... Getting a project can be difficult.

Great! What about a job board? Where us that?

There isn't any job board as far as I know.

And just to note, I'm interested in customing CMSes for the user. Keystone.js is a database driven CMS that has node.js at it's heart. Hence, the usefulness of it. From what I've briefly read, it sounds like a JS powered Wordpress (very exciting to me)! I hope to customize my CMS to my user's content as opposed to having to customize my content to fit WP, which I've seen happen alot (to my dismay).

'they are the top in their industry' - I agree that Treehouse teachers know their stuff, which is why I was hesitant to move to another track without at least glancing the CSS/HTML/Video to HTML videos in the front development track. I have a personal conviction that cries fowl whenever I don't finish what I start, lol.

correction, there is no job board like indeed.com per say, but there are career resources:
