Ruby

No OSX-GCC-Installer for 10.5. Any suggestions?

The only downloads available are for 10.6 and up. I am running OSX 10.5.8 (I haven't gotten a new macbook yet). Someone said in another internet forum that Fink is not recommended. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I hold off on watching any more videos? I just signed up for teamtreehouse and so i am not familiar with your website yet and don't know if I absolutely must get Ruby installed first before proceeding with other videos. Thanks for any help.

You can actually use workspaces to run any ruby code. Just make sure to select ruby when you create your workspace.

What were you planning to learn first? I recommend the Ruby Basics course.

It will show you how to use workspaces to get you up and running on any computer.

Happy coding =)

I have huge problems. Nothing is working. I have HUGE HUGE black icons, one icon for each for each arrow, for re-play. each one takes up my whole screen. I am not getting past the second video (how to install ruby). now have new mac 10.10 with latest verified java and adobe flash player and firefox 35 (latest). the moment i log in, it has HUGE HUGE icons covering entire center screen. each icon covers entire screen. the menu is now on left, such as preview, your reply etc. things look generic. screen is gigantic white color with huge black icons. what a mess. not a great start to a 14 day trial. I have yet to run just the SECOND video (installing ruby) of the ENTIRE 14 day trial. I am totally lost. This is soooo soooo aggravating!!!!!! No, this is not a joke .
