Not able to understand the reassign

am not able to understand where it is saying to reassign the menu and to use .format

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes=available.split(';')
menu="Our available flavors are: {}."
display_menu=sundaes.join(", ")

My apologies, should have read further. "Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu, where each item in the list is rejoined together by a "comma and a space (", ")."

display_menu=", ".join(sundaes) ***Note that unlike split, the , comes before the word "join"

"Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu". You have the "menu" variable already set to something in line 3. If you look closer, that value seems to be a placeholder waiting for a value to make it complete. So the requirement is that you give the menu variable (=reassign) this new value from display_menu to fill its placeholder.

menu.format(display_menu)

"If you're really brave, you can even accomplish this all on the same line where menu is currently being set." A shorter way of answering this is as:

menu="Our available flavors are: {}." .format(", ".join(sundaes))

Hi Siddharth: The challenge states "Use .split() to break the available string apart on the semi-colons (;). Assign this to a new variable sundaes." You did that with "sundaes=available.split(';')" That is all that is required -- you don't need to go any more than that.
