The first thing I notice just from looking at the formatting for the html you have pasted. It seems that you have prematurely closed the image tag for your nick.jpg image:

Should be something like:
<img src="nick.jpg" alt="Photograph of Nick Pettit" class="profile-photo">
Try fixing this first and then I will look into your url issue.
