planned = 5
upcoming_releases = 2
del planned
current_count and upcoming_releases to total

Treehouse Moderator 68,441 PointsYou have the right idea. It's a syntax issue.
To add two number us the math operator + and not the logical and. The challenge asks to assign the sum to the variable total. This is done using the = sign:
total = current_count + upcoming_releases
