6,077 PointsNot sure how to split on more than one parameter
It says that I need to split on not only spaces but I don't know how to split on more that one symbol.
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(string):
words = {}
stri = string.lower()
the_string = stri.split(' ')
for word in the_string:
if word in words:
words[word] = words[word] + 1
else:
words[word] = 1
return words

splits and all whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines, etc.)
So the solution is to not pass in any parameters, like this:
# This is only an example
"abc".split()
I hope this gives you.
