The problem is that you write elsif instead of else.

65,469 PointsLike what Ethan Rivas said, you should replace "elsif" with "else". Also, there is no need for the car_speed.to_i part.
This code will work:
def check_speed(car_speed)
# write your code here
if (car_speed >= 40) && (car_speed <=50)
return "safe"
else
return "unsafe"
end
end
