JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Create a max() Function

Not sure what the issue with my code is.

Call the function and display the results in an alert dialog. You can pass the results of a function directly to the alert() method. For example, to display the results of the Math.random() method in an alert dialog you could type this: alert( Math.random( ) );

script.js
function max(num1, num2) {
  if (num1 > num2){
  return num1
  } else {
  return num2;
    alert(max(num1,num2));
  }
}

1) You would want the call to the function to be outside of the function itself. 2) You would want to pass actual numeric values to the function.

For example:

function max(num1, num2) {
  if (num1 > num2){
  return num1
  } else {
  return num2
  }
}

alert(max(3, 4))

Hope this helps!

function max(x, y) {
  if( x > y ) {
    return x;
  } else {
        return y;
       }
}
alert( Math.random (max()));
