1,399 PointsNot sure why this isn't working
This works for every value I have entered in workspaces, but for some reason I keep getting the bummer message on the challenge. Any thoughts?
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(value):
listy = value.split(' ')
listy = [words.lower() for words in listy[:]]
vally = [ listy.count(x) for x in listy[:]]
siccy = dict(zip(listy[:], vally[:]))
return(siccy)

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 33,271 Pointsthe error tells you to split on all whitespace, but you are only splitting on space. there are other whitespace characters like tab. use split with no arguments to also split on those other characters.
