Not trying to bash, but isn't it refreshing?

I don't mean to bash on Andrew, but to me it is very refreshing to hear / see Dave teaching this course. I became so confused and lost through the previous JavaScript courses such as the interactivity course and became discouraged. I feel Dave is much more thorough in his teaching and provides much clearer examples when presenting each new concept..

I'm just here to give my feedback and curious if others feel the same. I saw a lot of similar confusion posts during the Web Interactivity course as well so I just want to know what people think.

Im with you. Andrew knows his stuff, but Dave is an excellent teacher. I felt a similar sense of relief since this is a long in depth course.

I agree. Dave is very refreshing. I was getting very frustrated with how Andrew teaches and goes about things. He is very knowledgeable, but I would not recommend him for someone beginning coding. Once you have a better grasp, I think Andrew's teaching style will make more sense.

There are many comments about this. However, you have to consider what the topics being taught are. Andrew is teaching courses that aren't necessarily the easiest to grasp. I do find his courses easier to understand and go thru at 1.75x speed. At regular speed they are to slow and I find my attention wandering. I think he went through the material at a very slow pace because he wanted to make sure he was being understood. But, at a faster pace, it sounds like a normal course so you might try that. Though a times a bit redundant, I also now appreciate his pace going thru the API documents as I better understand them myself when I need to look something up.

I watched his video series several times and, poked around on other websites to figure out jQuery and, once you have a grasp, it does change how you perceive his courses.

Have to leave a comment here too! I agree with everyone, Dave is an excellent teacher here at Treehouse and I find that I learn quite a lot more with Dave - I'm not sure how he does it but I find myself retaining more with his teaching style.

YESSS. I must not have taken the same courses you did in between this one and Basic JavaScript, because I only had Andrew for a workshop or two. But there were some other teachers in between and I found them difficult to follow for sure. I had such a positive kick off on Treehouse with Dave being the first teacher I had, and then I felt discouraged when taking the next courses, in which I struggled a lot to follow what they were talking about. So glad to have Dave back!
