"null" is not an object error

var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
var a = answer.toUpperCase();

if(a === "JAVASCRIPT")
{
  document.write("You are correct");
}

You are adding unnecessary script to what the challenge is asking you to do. The error comes from the variable a which you are giving the value of answer.

The answer holds no value until the user has given the prompt one. Removing the var a and changing the condition to the following should work. Also, you are writing the message to the document when you need to provide it in a alert box. view below

var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');

if(answer === "JavaScript") {
  alert("You are correct");
}

I hope this helps.
